into the Temple of Doom

Finally the Squad comes face to face with

Regulus is the king kobra of Basilisk a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world.
(pun intended)
This guy is the real deal. Not only is his armor amazing, his fight skills look the same way x10. This is what he does to the crew.

Before this slice of humble pie, the Squad was blown up, tricked, turned upside down about to be sacrificed by natives when in comes our favorite Aussie and double agent extraordinaire Captain Boomerang. Digger shows back up and plays his part to the fullest. He kicks the shit out of Deadshot  (who says it's wrong to kick a man when he's down) before Dinkum turns on Regulus and our guys open up a can, on
Basilisk snake worshipers.

Ladies and Gentlemen I must now take the time out and say, Adam Glass and company.....Damn good job people. From beginning to end this was an exciting issue. the action is intense, questions answered and the plot thickens. What more could you ask for? Black Spider doing something, and he delivers.

Fernando Dagnino, you did me right this time. Preciate it man. I wanted to give you guys the last shot in the book, but I already gave you almost the entire read. I think it's safe to say I like this one.
Without being to wordy (to late).

Adam and Fernando did the damn thang on this one. A+

  1. great posting title first of all and you followed that up with a great opening sentence in your review. aside from that you pretty much know what i think of the issue. i'm not as enthusiastic about it as you are but i agree it's an important step in the right direction and for those Squad fans out there who did pick it up they deserve to enjoy the issue for what it has going for it. thanks again for posting this i know how much work this blogging shit can be.

    1. Yeah man and I only have one. What didn't you like about this one. I thought it had all the ingredients in the formula.

    2. like i said this issue was certainly an improvement and a step in the right direction. but here are the bugs the series still needs to work out before it looks like the sort of Suicide Squad i want to see. now that Black Spider is effectively off the team it's time to introduce BT. Iceberg has been in five issues now if you count that Resurrection Man cross over (#9).so far he's been nothing but dead weight as a character of interest or as a useful member of the team. he needs to go and make way for Vertigo or Nightshade. or even Rick Flag given that Deadshot doesn't want to be team leader anymore and also since Waller offered the spot (#8) to Savant because she wasn't sure DS was up to it. also, where's DS's "stache" i thought he was growing that in now? also, Black Spider having pulled the wool over Waller's eyes better give her character some sense of humility and make her be less of a bitch to some of the other characters who can at least be trusted to not be double agents. when i start seeing these changes then i'll be reasonably satisfied with this title and start picking it up again and doing reviews of it.

  2. One thing about Black Spider's inteligence: He shots some energy weapon to a person that creates energy boomerangs and turns his back to mim.
    He's so @#$&%ed :)
I'm so eager to read next. I loved this issue too!
It was a trill from the beguining to the end!

    1. Aliera! Hello and welcome to the Tiger cage. I really liked the issue also. It's a move in the right direction. And Boomerang is back. I know that's your guy. Hope your on deck. Long live the Squad.

  3. Glad you're back on the wagon, as far as posting new...posts:)
    You've been missed.

Solid review too, as I'm sure Shlomo enjoyed it, if not for the story itself, but or the fact that at least there's more SS stuff out there.

BT really needs to show up now as Waller's ace in the hole. I can't think of a more perfect scenario/situation for him to return than this one, as far as pulling Harley and Deadshots's asses out of the fire.

Personally, in order to maintain his rep as a legit bad-ass, I'd have Waller hesitant to call him in because she knows he'll kill whoever stands in his way. In other words, bring back the brain-washing/rage issues he used to have, so that he's not super perfect, but damn good enough to get the mission done. Then slowly build his rehabilitation process back up, and make him a more complete and capable person again.

Is it a repeat of Ostrander's method? Sure, but it'd be new here, and new to new SS readers.

Plus, how can they're not be a Rick Flagg character around? There's been an incarnation of that character in the DCU since the silver age. Make it happen DC.

Good stuff, bro-ham. Keep it up:)

    1. What's up man, sorry it took so long to reply I just walked in the house. Dale, you know we shouldn't go backwards brah. Come on, do you really want to revisit the brainwashing?

The one thing that I like and respect from Adam Glass is he is intent on making this book his own. Good or bad he's giving us something new. I don't like everything he's done, but I've loved some of it.

John laid the foundation, the template. All anyone else has to do is stay true to character and give us new missions. Of course that's the short answer but hey, analyzing, picking apart and giving these guys hell is what we do.

    2. @Dale, BT has another chapter to his story. His fiancee Myoshi was supposedly killed right before the Sensei hand picked him for the LOA. A match move to the Demon Head picking Bruce. I'm not going to go any further right now because that's a lot to smoke over right there. Where is the body, why was he chosen and what was the signifigance of the Mask being redone and introduced as trigger and conductor. Hmmm so many questions.

Enter the Tiger quest. See it's out there man. We don't have to go backwards.

  4. Excellent review, and it certainly seems like the book picked up in this issue. But it's one issue. Give me two like it, and then I'll be cheering a bit louder. Give me BT, AND Flagg, and I'll be doing the wave. And no, no more brainwashing right now, especially on the heels of that whole storyline. I think just the everyday psychiatric crap they deal with is plenty.

    1. Randomnerd! glad to hear from you. I really want comic book fans to sound off over here. And thanks I liked this issue and I am with you guys on this. Give me some more just like it.

I think we all want to see a Squad simulant to the one we had. But hey this one isn't to bad. I'm not going to stone him yet, maybe a lashing every now and then for crimes of discontent.

Anyway thank you and Aliera for stopping by. I get a little jealous when I see you guys all at Daves and Dan's spot.

would love to see you two join up. Long live the Squad.

    2. actually there's nothing to be jealous of. this blog, the SS blog, Dale's blog and Dan's blog have all gotten the same 4 -5 people leaving comments for the last couple of weeks now. there's been a hand full of other random people who've left a single comment a few of my postings but that's all. where's those other two commentators (Lisagemini1 and LordThanotos) see here all the time? i wanna hear what they have to say about this issue and review.

    3. I finally figured out how to follow it, so I'll be over here more, Agent O. And hey, lashing. That was funny. Don't know if you meant it to be, but I was up early enough, and hadn't had my first cup of coffee yet, so I was giggling.

    4. That's good, I like laughter, deep thought, drama, wonderous variety and cheese burgers. I want it all. Glad your on board my sister.

@Shlomo, it was meant in a good way. And I do want to hear from Thantos and Gemini. CHALLENGE guys from Shlomo. Let's hear what you got.
