the Squad is Assembled

at least a first version debuted on Arrow yesterday. And I must say, It brought back a semblance of the real Ostrander Squad; international intrigue, romantic danger, lies, double crossing and of course the secret mission gone wrong ... the Suicide Squad.

I don't really like Dig em but he even fit in well with the mix and match team of criminals forced to do the bidding of the now slim and sexy Amanda Waller. Did I mention they even had the supposedly unnoticed unmarked van for a get away.

and nothing should be able to hold the Squad back from a full fledged spin off

 series or live action.. I got to admit ... this time the CW got it right.

History

The Suicide Squad is a covert black-ops government strike team under Task Force X. The team is partially made up of imprisoned super-villains who agree to serve as expendable agents on life-threatening top-secret missions for the United States Government. In return, after sufficient service, the prisoners are granted full pardons for their crimes.

The Government does not officially acknowledge the existence of the Suicide Squad, and claims their missions as random supervillain attacks. In addition, there are other non-prisoner members such as Nemesis and Nightshade who participate in the team as part of individual arrangements. The Suicide Squad operate out of Belle Reve prison in Louisiana.

To prevent members escaping in the field, the prisoners are shackled with explosive bracelets programmed to detonate a certain distance from the field leader, who also wears a remote control that can detonate or disengage the bracelets as desired. Typically the field leader will be either Rick Flag or Bronze Tiger.

I've been hearing the casting is inspired. I would say so ( to the obvious choice). The martial arts master of the DCU and the real life martial arts master in the flesh.

Sports fans this should be good. The second episode of Arrow is Identity, featuring China White and DC's ultimate Super Spy the Bronze Tiger.

The shows executive producer, Marc Guggenheim, said

to create a really great representation of this DC comics character.

Swirling crackling surges of power flow thru me as I step thru Dooms doorway this time. Again I find myself trapped in another world, another dimension behind deaths doorway. Nubia? I've been here for years now. Benjamin Turner the Bronze Tiger now Alamarr Mairu, Alik'r Tiger Dragon; Dragonborn from Hammerfell. What is this Dragonborn? The prophesied hero of Skyrim. The master of the voice, the slayer of the world eater Alduin. But who am I really, and why? Why am I not with Nubia swimming the waters of the Styx, basking in the sun and hunting thru the lush of the Island Slaughter.  There is a paradise that most men have never seen there. Fatal danger is always lurking, but isn't it lurking everywhere? Skyrim is my reality now and right now the Aldmeri Dominion has to be put to an end.  Hammerfell and Skyrim must unite or witness another great war. I've stopped the blight from Sovngarde.

The Bronze Tiger has been Ronin, is Samurai and must find the sword and bow of Sakanouye-no-Tamuramaro to become shogun. The armor and weapons of the 1st Sei-i Tai is his birth right and the key to crushing the oni that has been released against the world.

 

 

 

Sakanouye is looking  over one of the last sons of Tamuramaro, the Bronze Tiger (SS:OA1).

 

 

Sakanouye-no-Tamuramaro:Sei-i Tai, Shogun of early Japan, 1st man to hold the title Shogun, which is the highest rank to which a warrior could aspire. Tamuramaro is a Japanese man of African decent. The most celebrated Black general of the Heian period (794-1185) and the originator of what was to develop into the renowned Samurai class.

 

 

 

The word shogun means savage destroyer. A shogun is a hereditary governor of Japan. A ruling warlord. They were the absolute rulers until 1867; the warrior kings. Sakanouye is the conqueror of the indigenous Ainu / Emishi and the demon crushing avatar of the Bishamon. Many temples are dedicated to him as the avatar (check Chinese and Japanese historical records and mythology). Sakanouye is a Black man that's Japanese. Japanese culture and native. what should be known is that Tamuramaro was a paragon of military virtues, loved and is celebrated all over Japan and a hero in his own right.

Deathstroke vs the JSA

My nephew and action figure collecting partner sent me these fight pictures and second round drag out of Slade vs the JSA. I guess they wanted some get back from the beat down he gave em from Identity Crisis. Either way, here we go....FIGHT!

Slade Wilson, the Terminator aka: DEATHSTROKE
Mercenary assassin and scourge of the DCU. Possesses various enhanced abilities at an almost superhuman level. These include strength of ten men, heightened speed, agility, stamina and reflexes.

Deathstroke can use 90% of his brain making him a tactical genius, adept at turning an opponent's own abilities against them. He has years of military training and possesses a healing factor that enables him to heal from physical injury much faster than a normal person; however, it does have limitations. He cannot regenerate entire limbs. So he can be killed.

Slade is expert hand to hand combatant and a weapons expert, but his signature weapon is a power staff, that fires lethal and non lethal energy blasts from both ends. He could probably use it right now to keep from getting kicked in the face.

Oh well, that kicking stuff didn't last.

Looks like these guys have just got the business done to em. And Deathstroke needs some new guys to fight. Maybe beat the crap out of some marvel guys? Deadpool, Blade, Taskmaster, who knows. Thanks Jake for the pics man. And until your guy meets the Bronze Tiger he gets the win.

Red Dead Redemption

Traveling on a constant loop thru space and time, I Benjamin Turner aka the Bronze Tiger arrived in the American west. The year 1911 and the experience of the wild west is much wilder, more beautiful and more deadly than they show you on the western channel or in a spaghetti western from Sergio Leone. John Marston.....a man I rode with on many occasions trying to find my way back to the future.

Marston was an Outlaw turned family man, rancher that has gotten caught up in a government conspiracy to rid the territory of a criminal gang of killers he use to call friends. Marston's wife and son's life hang in the balance as he desperately fight for their lives and his own redemption for past crimes and regrets (sound familiar?). With this warrior of the west I found a kinship a brotherhood as we rode thru New Austin, Nuevo Paraiso and West Elizabeth: gunfighting, roping, riding and Marston showed me a new definition for dragging ass.

the Red Dead Redemption of John Marston crossed paths with some colorful hombres, real killers some of these men were forced to do wrong others just dead ass wrong or dead ass crazy.

the women that play this game of cowboys and Indians are as tough, skilled and beautiful as the western landscape itself. One of the most prominent cattlemen in New Austin is a woman. Bonnie McFarlane, strong, focused and taking no nonsense. Bonnie is virtuous and vulnerable but is in no way wolf bait. I embody the spirit of the Tiger, Bonnie has the spirit of an unbroken mare a true prize to a cowboy that can rope her. Down in Nuevo Paraiso is a beautiful desert flower with thorns; Luisa Fortuna has the heart to fight a corrupt gov. and the highest fidelity to the cause, a real revolutionary. My little sister makes me proud to see her work. And if you don't respect her G you better hope she doesn't call on me.

Don't think I forgot Tuco. Captain Boomerang is the Tuco of the Suicide Squad. The misunderstood, underestimated ass hole. Tuco is aggravating but entertaining, skilled and as fatal as anyone of the men up top. Secretly one of my favorite operatives to work with on the Squad even though I have to check this dummy to often.

If Red Dead Redemption was a video game It would be the best damn game I ever played. It's escapism on steroids. This game is better than 80% of the movies these days. Matter of fact Red Dead should be a movie. The closest thing to it right now is Hell on Wheels. If you haven't seen it, check it out. It's John Marston on TV.
