  2. Right?
Man is the Challenger a sad story. I was only 5 at the time, but I can still remember watching the Challenger blow up as I saw it on the news while Tom Brokaw narrated.
Sad to see all of them, especially McNair go out like that, but that's the risks some times.

    Even Punky Brewster mentioned it.

    1. I believe we were in front of the TV at the same time. I was there watching a historic voyage blow up right in front of my eyes.

The greatness had already been accomplished though with the barriers that had been broken. America can still be the greatest country in the world.

  3. That was a great story... I got choked up at the Star Trek part. -Significant to him in more ways than one...
I was surprised at the way the cops acted too, pleasantly so- but still surprised.
I'm glad they named the Library after him. -That was a full-circle type of thing.

  4. Man, I still want that federation all inclusive dream right now.

Somehow I wish they see the bigger picture (Big Krit).

  5. Only Love can conquer hate (Marvin Gaye).

And in his case it was the Love of science,
good home training, and an idea.

  6. That is one of the best things I've seen all month. The only icon I ever cared about visiting in America was the Cape - the rest of the world seemed more interesting than the usual touristy US places, but as a kid growing up who could recite the order of planets in either size or from the sun before he could any math times table, seeing Challenger go boom was frightful even through the TV screens.

Hopefully the space race does become more of a spectator sport than an insular one that it has become in future, because in being visible to the public it really did help us all to dream.

    1. I didn't even know this animated series existed . And no wonder, it was cute but no cigar. Aquaman has enough super speed in the clip to block gunfire at close range (Jesus).
