Invested Interest

Invisibly Vested

Instead of doing the right thing and pay your creator and make Black Lightning apart of mainstream animation history. They allow the theft of a creators idea. It's no denying the greatness of Black Vulcan and the importance of the character, however he's still trapped in the comic book abyss with so many other DC minority originals.

  1. interesting all the bullshit you never know about that goes on behind the scenes isn't it? Tony was right on so many levels when he said DC just doesn't get it. by the way thanks for the reminder about the Suicide Squad 20 review on Eee! Tess Ate Chai Tea! a while ago that guy told me that was his unique way of discreetly saying shit. i didn't really pick up what he was laying down but i didn't push the issue. i'll pass along the Tiger Cage the The King of Thessaly although he doesn't really talk about DC much at all in his videos.

    1. It's not about DC or Marvel over here. It's about characters, it's about comics, from my first point of view it's the Bronze Tiger and all the things that revolve around him and the Squad. But it's also about whatever it is that makes comics, movies, animation or whatever, good or bad to you; The individual.

It's conversation with a comics pre text. Maybe people just haven't picked up on it yet. Maybe they don't really have a conversation piece at all. maybe people just want to hear themselves talk. Who knows?

  3. At least now we, the public, can find out when this stuff goes on. And we can make noise with much more than just not buying a comic in protest. Blogs like yours, and Shlomo's, Dale's and Dan's are beautiful things. People who love comics, and art, and animation, and everything that you could possibly geek out about have a forum to share our neurosis, and talk about what is right, and wrong, with the industry.
That's something I never had growing up, outside of the one friend I had who read comics.
(Don't count my brother or his friends. They never listened to me.)

    1. Your brothers didn't listen to you and DC seems not to listen to reason. what is a fan Boi to do (I don't know if I really like that term)? Anyway, I'm glad I got my crew, you guys have my back and I got yours. Our own little Squad.

And We got our own thang.

  4. Awww,Hugs-sies;)

I won't go into depth on this one, since I'm pretty sure I might've mentioned the whole Isabella/Black Lighting thing awhile back. But yeah, DC, and really a lot of successful companies out there do this sort of thing all the time. it's why they got the contracts, the trademarks, the lawyers, etc. That's why when you go to work for a major company/organization, shit like this is expected. It just comes with the territory. I will say though, that at least for now, the indies(comic-wise) is the place to go if you want to rd and enjoy richly written and developed characters, no matter the genre. The Big Two? They just don't get it, preferring to stay drunk off their own kool-aid.
