Silent Dogs and Still Water

Lions, Tigers and the year of the Dog

Name: Jishi, translated means lion. The Foo Dog with magical powers, the guardian lion of the temple and shrine. The protector of the Tama, the sacred jewel of wisdom that brings light to darkness.

Group affiliation: the League of Shadows
Foo Dog guardian of the Sensei

Jishi and the Bronze Tiger emerged as assassins for the Demon Fang and one of them destined to become a Nio Guardian. As they wiped out all of the enemies of the Sensei the Bronze Tiger became the best and most feared assassin in the world; and therefore becoming the chosen Nio Guardian to the mysteries of shadow.

The Tiger was honored with the Jishi mask, however the Sensei had already employed

Professor Ojo to brainwash Ben. Sensei corrupted the use of the mask which is now the mask of the Tiger, then set Benjamin Turner on a course of bloodshed in the Sensei's attempt to overthrow Ra's Al Ghul for the leadership of the LOA. This was only a faint for him to possess the Beholder mask. The unnamed assassin completely filled with evil spirits from the Demon Blade, waited his opportunity and finally got a chance to ambush and stab the Bronze Tiger in the back while Ben was in battle against the Darknight detective.

Jishi would eventually become the Lion guardian and later become responsible for the killing of Ben Turner's fiancee Miyoshi. This too is a deception of the Sensei who's been keeping Miyoshi alive and using her in his plans that concern Ben Turner and the descendants of Tamuramaro.

Powers / Weapons

Ninja and one of the deadliest assassins alive, Jishi uses various bladed weapons, poisons and tools of the trade. He also carries the Demon Slayer, an ancient knife that kills evil spirits if held by a true guardian, the evil spirits are collected if in the hands of the unrighteous. The stronger spirits will possess the man  that is unworthy. Whatever else the knife does is unknown. Jishi is to be married to Miyoshi and father  to her two sons. David Cain is training the children and Ojo is conditioning.

The filthy cauldron of schemes set in motion by the Sensei is on a direct path to kill a Tiger.

OK true believers and young dabblers, what do you think?
Jishi  is the name given to this guy by OA1 and his origin is mine too.
I liked the guy and thought he needed an origin and BT another guy added to his rogues list.

conversation and analytical interpretation; VUALA!!!

  1. I hate to admit it but, before reading your blog, I had never heard of the Bronze Tiger. I have read comics for a long time. I still do. I'll have to look the Bronze Tiger up. Thanks

    1. See what DC has done to us. Nobody knows who we are. But it's ok I have all of the facts here for you and the best fan fiction as well. I'm glad your on board.

  2. Wow. I didn't know Miyoshi was still alive. Does that mean she willingly married Jishi, or was she more likely brainwashed or forced against her will to. Whatever you call it, that amounts to rape, so.....:(

And BT never knew this huh?

It's a damn shame, and another reason to hate on the reboot, since now this wouldn't likely ever be addressed anytime soon, except here. I'd love to see some sort of follow up to this, but fat chance on that.

    Very heavy stuff.

Great work yet again with these series of posts and helpful info. You the man Omega!

    Long live the Squad indeed:)

    1. The part of Miyoshi being alive is fan fiction, per Omeganess. But it would be cool to see it all go down right?

Man I'm workin on something, I really want to send it to you. If I catch comedy block I'm going to need the pen from the mad house. What say you?

    2. Which book is this?
Were there solo Bronze Tiger stories?
This has that classic feeling. I think i would have liked to read it.

    3. It's Suicide Squad #38 from Ostranders run. The foundation is already there that's why Shlomo is so adamant about it. All a new writer has to do is go from there, not change every character. Just tell good stories.

  3. Yeah a decent rouges gallery would definitely help DC wake up to the realisation they have their own Iron Fist of sorts right here!

I liked the concept of the blade in different hands, that could really do some great plots in the hands of a talented writer.

    Nice post!

    1. not that we'll ever see it but it sounds like BT needs to break Jishi's back like he did Ravan from the jihad. man, for a second there i thought i saw the name David Carradine in your posting.

    2. Exactly. Thanks for coming by Dan.

Wait a Dan minute! Are you calling me a sorry writer? You mutha... :) I'm joking and I agree. In the hands of a professional, the Tiger could become a household name, a new staple in the DCU. You know I'd buy it.

  4. shit! i didn't mean to post that first comment as a reply to Dan. by the way i'm at a different computer and i can now see how you used those League of Shadows ninjas from the first Batman film as a back ground screen on the last posting it looks good. i may need to recalibrate my monitor at home.

I'm sure it's good, since I have yet to see anything mediocre over here:)

Oh, and yeah I didn't know her being alive was fiction on your part. Very sneaky Omega:)

I'm sure you and Shlomo had a good laugh about that one:) I'm surprised Shlomo didn't give me a virtual bitch-slap for not knowing that.
