the man with the Iron Fist

the Blacksmith
Character prodigy of the RZA
is the man with the Iron Fist. The movie comes out Friday and of course your man OA1 will be in the building for what I believe is the beginning of a new epic franchise that's well overdue. Were going to get martial arts superheroes (magic kung fu).
Let it be said that you heard it here first, from the beginning of this blog
that the DC universe has this character and movie in the
number one American super spy of TaskForceX.

Here's to that rock star Quentin Tarantino and
my man the soul collector, Bobby Digital.

Looking at the Bronze Tiger movie poster

what do you think the plot would be?

  1. i wish i could give you some kind of credible feed back on this one but i'm just not familiar enough, or at all with some of these characters out side of BT. having to do some research on them and then cook up a story premise in my head would be a small project. so much stuff to do and so little time to do it in our day to day meager mortal lives.

    1. Man....the movie was a disappointment. I wasn't expecting the house of the flying daggers but damn some substance and story should have been there. I can't believe Tarantino didn't see the holes in this movie. Rza gets an A for what I think he tried to do, but an F on the total project.

    2. truth be told the previews to this movie just reeked of over the top sort of martial arts nonesense. seeing this movie was never on my radar. Tarantino has had some movies over the years that had moments of greatness but he never had another great movie since Pulp Fiction.

    3. thanks for stopping by the Rom blog. by the way i'm hearing great things about that Ben Afleck movie Argo. plus the new James Bond look promising. i'm sure it'll at least be better then what you just saw.

    4. Skyfall is up next and I hear Argo is going to win some awards, Afleck is for real. Bond has always been a character I like, suave, smart with toys to rival Batman himself. So the new Bond with the gruff exterior, mad at the world type of guy turned me away from the 007 movies. I am a Daniel Gregg fan so I am going to give the movie a shot. But truth be told, Liam Neeson did a better Bond in Taken.

    5. yeah me too when it comes to Daniel Craig. i love the torture scene from Casino Royale, "i've got an itch down there, do you mind?". he was also cool in Munich with another great quote that i like, "don't fuck with the Jews". and yeah Taken turned out to be a fairly good movie. there's a sequel coming for that one too.

  2. Sorry I'm almost a week late in responding man, my bad for damn sure:(

Glad there's more diversity out there as far as movies go, especially with hopefully a new resurgence in kung-fu.

Whatever the plot for a BT movie, it would have to have feature pretty much the entire backstory for BT, so the writers and director could copy the pages from BT's origin issue from the old Suicide Squad series scene for scene. Then maybe hint at a fight w/Batman during the whole Kathy Kane ordeal, although that could really be saved for a sequel. I think Batman Begins,. and the progression of the character and fighting the league of assassins would be a really good way to go, just as long as its not a straight-up copy.

    Whatta' think?

    1. I think were on the same page for a BT movie, DC animated or otherwise. But Kung-Fu or Wu Shu hasn't gone anywhere, every movie and comic book character has some type of martial arts skills these days and that's the problem. With the Bronze Tiger being a martial arts guy, what makes him movie or comic worthy, he's just another fighter? Some writer needs to read thebronzetiger.blogspot.com and get the answers.

I thought the man with the Iron Fists was finally going to give up part of the formula and set myself up to be tortured by a mediocre grindhouse.

  3. fuck! election night is winding down and the Waller ticket didn't make it. as far as the Romney ticket goes i think even a reboot wouldn't have helped that campaign :)

    1. Not even one of the best music producers in the world could help this movie project either. Who knew?

  4. Damn sorry to hear that:( I did like that one one by Russel Crowe about those "women of the night" being business and his knife, and probably what he intended to do with it being pleasure. Other than that, and maybe seeing former pro-wrestler Batista in action, I wasn't too interested in this one myself. I might rent it once it comes out on dvd.

    1. I can truthfully say that The Man with the Iron Fists was not on my list of movies to see. But A friend wanted to go see it and I went. It was crap. The was no story, the music did not go with the time period and the supposed hero was a runaway slave, that ended up in a monastery and learned what?? And used it to do what??? All I can say is just....Damn. I didn't really expect much from this movie, but they gave me even less than what I expected. If you asked me for a rating on this movie, I'd give it 1 star and that's being generous. This movie is definitely no Kill Bill.

    3. It's funny that you said that because the only thing I can remember about that movie was Lucy Liu and her fans...uh I think she had fans. Besides this movie, I have only seen one or two others (The quest with jean-claude van damme and Star-Trek Insurrection) that I could not remember any of the details to. If Quentin Tarantino and the RZA are not embarrassed about this movie, hell I'll be embarrassed for them. The ideas introduced in this movie had potential. They just did not flesh out any of them. They just touched on things and then never explained them. I was actually a little frustrated while I was watching this movie. Omega, you do your homework, so I believe that if someone gave you just $100,000 some equipment you could shoot a better movie than than one.

    4. Even though the RZA's acting was horrible and his narrating in a New York accident when he was supposed to be a runaway slave was brutal to listen to. He does know and have a passion for kung fu, because the characters were cool. They just needed a real director to make us care about them.

    5. Ohhhhh....flattery will get you everywhere here my sister. But on the real. I'm a big Wu Tang fan. Saw em in concert, bought all the albums (CD's) and felt like a real member when I wore the W, but this movie is not what I wanted at all. Who knows, maybe they should have followed the story line from the video game? :(
