the man with the Iron Fist

the Blacksmith
Character prodigy of the RZA
is the man with the Iron Fist. The movie comes out Friday and of course your man OA1 will be in the building for what I believe is the beginning of a new epic franchise that's well overdue. Were going to get martial arts superheroes (magic kung fu).
Let it be said that you heard it here first, from the beginning of this blog
that the DC universe has this character and movie in the
number one American super spy of TaskForceX.

Here's to that rock star Quentin Tarantino and
my man the soul collector, Bobby Digital.

earth 2: Justice Society of America

the JSA

I don't really know why DC comics has so many different earths. Earth 1, Earth7, Earth16 or so many duplicates of the same character. Whatever the case I was raised in this genre on the Super Friends. Eventually I was introduced to the Justice Society of America and even today I don't think I respect another super hero team as much as this team of Heroes. Jay, Alan and Fate were always the top tier for me now they go and do what they did to Alan Scott in the new earth2. I'm just going to say I don't like it and keep it moving.

The current earth2 series is going to retool all of the JSA into younger and different versions of the original. Besides my one major gripe the book has been OK. Until book3 and it moved into AWESOMENESS!!! The first redesigned villain to show up is none other than the living zombie.........

SOLOMON

The Warlord / Gladiator  trappings, rot damaged body and a new power set to boot. This is a seriously dangerous and visually imposing character. I'm overly impressed.

Solomon Grundy is one of the 13 members of the Legion of Doom.
Who would be in your 13 member line up?

Suicide Squad 11: is a dead end

The Glory Days are gone if they ever were

The days when you could read an issue of the Suicide Squad and each issue felt complete even as the story lead right into the next issue is now none existent. This new SS series is a sad excuse for character development. The story moves to fast without any substance and the weak and reckless use of pen to paper is sad and offensive.

I've been looking at Amanda Waller for eleven issues now, smoking cigarettes being an ass hole for no apparent reason. This time she rams a chair in the neck of Diablo, a show of power that was more deflating than threatening. The point she was trying to make was useless. Null and void even. This is not the smart and imposing women that exploded from the ashes of obscure character into A list heroin.

Deadshot is even worse. This version of Deadshot is not hard. He is not tough, not a leader and he's NOT the cool ass gun slinging don't give a damn outlaw that you love to hate and hate to love. Where the Hell is Floyd Lawton? This guy is a pretty nothing with a jacked up costume. Trick or Treat  _ _ _ _ _ _   _ _ _ _ _ _ , but don't believe your fooling me buddy. Your using Black Spider as the whooping boy and making a real life example of a character that was already low on the totem pole to try and make this shitty version of Deadshot look his superior. Your trying to sell a professional vigilante ninja not being able to block or redirect a physical attack from a gunman.   The first major offense was Black Spider getting shot from an uncharacteristic move from a man of stealth. Add in not one full detailed drawing from your artist and no, quote on quote "karate moves" have we seen in the book. Not to mention the little joke from the Ofae.

To tell the truth, if Harley Quinn wasn't on the team the book would have been cancelled. If I'm not mistaken some other writer said she was going to sit back and wait for this book to fail. Lil buddy, I hope you plan to disappoint even though this issue so disappoints.

the Elementals: Wu-Xing 5 elements of Kung Fu

These are the top 5 fighters from the Marvel and DC Universe that represent the senior animal styles of Kung Fu and the 5 elemental forms known as the Wu-Xing. Each one of these warriors in comics or in writing have shown and do possess this fighting style and elemental power. Where did I pull the information from you ask? Jong Hap Mu Sool, List of martial arts around the world,  internet references, comics of these characters read thru the years, Kung Fu Gold theater and my own interpretation of what I see. Now, with that out the way, how does this Wu-Xing work?

Wu-Xing  Elements
Metal-which cuts                                    Metal collects water
Water-which flows                                 Water feeds wood
Wood-which splits                                   Wood feeds fire
Fire-which rises                                 Fire feeds earth
Earth-which contains                                    Earth births metal

And were all connected in the circle of life. On the real, I looked up and over all this stuff trying to figure out who was the top 10 fighters in comics.
I didn't forget
Wolverine, Blade, Deathstroke, Nightwing, Lady Shiva, Shang Chi, Daredevil bla bla bla. Everybody I just named been beat by the guys at the top or been beat by somebody that these guys beat the crap out of so they don't make the top 5 list. But I do want to here how you rank the top 10 in order and why?

Bruce Wayne: Batman / Metal         City: Gotham                                Snake style /  the Vibrating hand

Danny Rand: Iron Fist / Earth               City: New York                          Dragon style /  Iron Fist
T'Challa: Black Panther/Water City: Wakanda                  style Panther / Shadow Fang

Benjamin Turner: BronzeTiger / Fire  City:Central                                Tiger style / Invincible Armor

Steve Rodgers: Captain America Wood                City: New York Eagle style  /  Steel Talon

Paradise Island: Nubia

Drop me off at this island with Nubia and you don't even need to come back.....matter of fact don't come back I'm straight! I guess you can see why/ so why is Nubia not back into DC continuity? It's 52 ways to relaunch ms Prince back into the books, more even. I'm not going to give you my why's. Just read the facts and on this one I really want to hear from the women of comics, movies and or reviews; especially  the Wonder Woman and Artemis fans.

At the height of Linda Carter's Wonder Woman television series, Nubia was to be introduced to the show. A mego or Barbie doll was also put together to go along with the series. Of course it didn't happen. This is a nice collectors item or toy. The four horsemen from DC Universe classics would be my maker of choice for a Nubia action figure. This would give the guys a way to get one too (just looking out).

Nubia is one of those characters that has everything. Backstory (needs to be updated though) A list connections, unique powers and weapons and a variety of different looks to build off of. So what's the problem? With vixen now being used goods in my eyes  http://betaisdead.blogspot.com/2011/02/black-superheroes-vixen.html Nubia could be the the Love interest of the Bronze Tiger in his own title (DC gives everybody else one) or team title (see TaskforceX/the other league)

Nty-way Wonder Woman should get an animated series and Nubia should get some damn exposure.

TIGER STYLE: 7th CHAMBER

In the new 52 universe where what we use to know is not what we know, the Bronze Tiger hasn't shown up in the Suicide Squad title yet. We don't know if he'll show up at all or how he'll be represented (Harley Quinn , Deadshot).

Soooo here's how the number one martial artist of the DCU's skills and powers should be done.

WHY?
Because martial arts represents superior fighting systems developed to enhance the human mind, body and spirit to it's maximum physical and mental abilities.

And what is acheived at the highest levels of Kung Fu.......SUPER HUMAN POWERS to make a long story short; Magic Kung Fu.

With all that said. Heres the challenge for any comic guy or girl that might be tuned in.

1. Can you name any other martial arts character that has powers.
2. Can you name any martial arts style assossiated with a character.
3. Tell me why the Tiger shouldn't have em.
